Mogadishu,(insidesomalia.org)- The Burundian defense Minster Mr. Germain Niyoyankana reached the Somali capital Mogadishu on Tuesday and during his three days visit Mr. Niyoyanakana met with the Somali president Abdullahi Yussuf Ahmed and the police chief commander Abdi Hassan Awale Keybdid.
The Minster addressed the press today at Adan Abdulle Osman international airport.
During the press conference he talked about different pertaining with his visit.
The Burundian army was the second African forces to reach in Somali capital after the demand of the Somali president to the United Nation of 20 peacekeeping forces.
The Burundian soldiers in the capital were twice attacked since their arrival in Mogadishu, once with suicide bomb, which they lost one soldier, and the other one was night hours raid of which they sustained no damages.
In end the end of his speech the Burundian defense minister said that in the near future they would send additional troops, but has not specified the exact time.
Somalia had no effective central government since late Mohamed Siyad Bare was toppled from power in the year 1991.
The world has sent more than 37 nations in order peace to be restored in Somalia, but have achieved no tangible progress in their mission of restoring peace.
